Arrest warrant issued against Evaly CEO and Chairman
Two separate cases were filed in the Rangpur Chief Metropolitan Kotwali Amoli Court on Thursday (May 12th) against nine people, including the managing director (MD) and chairman of e-commerce company Evaly & Qcoom Limited. Amit Banik, a resident of Thana Road area of Rangpur city, has filed a case alleging embezzlement of Tk 32 lakh by tempting to supply goods in a lucrative offer.
Evaly's managing director (MD) and chief executive officer (CEO) Md. Russel, Chairman Shamima Nasrin, Kapal Debnath Dwip, Nasrin Akhter, Sabuj Saik, Maruf Hossain and Md. Khurshid has been accused in the case.
In another case, the Managing Director (MD) and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Qcoom Limited Md. Ripon Mia and Tanwar Chowdhury Bir, the company's chief delivery officer, have been charged.
After the hearing of the case, Rangpur Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (Amoli) Judge F. M Ahsanul Haque has fixed June 12 for the case. The judge also issued arrest warrants against Evaly CEO Russell and his wife Shamima Nasrin.
In the petition of the case, it has been said that Evaly has offered various tempting offers including TV, CCTV camera, washing machine, computer monitor, gas stove and various other products. Instead, the officials in charge of the company promised to deliver the goods by 45 days, but after receiving the money, they completely cut off communication.
Similar allegations have been made against Qcoom Limited. The company has taken away 11 lakh 55 thousand 214 Taka on the condition of delivering the goods within 30 days.
The plaintiff's lawyer, Advocate Sipon Saha, said the court had fixed June 12 for the hearing after filing a case with appropriate evidence of money transaction and also issued arrest warrants against Evaly CEO Russel and his wife Shamima Nasrin.
